Chuck and I are so glad you are shopping on our site. We live in the beautiful High Country of North Carolina. While living here for over twelve years, we have been so blessed by the many beautiful lights and colors surrounding us. Morning sunrises, evening sunsets, sun dappling through the leaves, not to mention the fireflies. The play of light on the rivers and creeks as they flow and change colors meandering through the area. Colors changing all year long, light greens in the early spring, turning to deeper greens as the summer grows. People flock to the mountains for the beautiful fall foliage, yellows, reds, golds. The fresh scents of the outdoors are with us in every season – Fraser Fir at Christmas, floral in the spring, fruits of summer and fall.
We want everyone to be able to experience the beauty of the mountains, so we are sharing the colors and fragrances with you – through the light and beauty of candles!
We source our raw materials from the USA to produce these candles, which are hand crafted right here in Ashe County, North Carolina. We have chosen to only use soy wax, blended with coconut wax, as it burns cleanly with no smoke or soot. Our wax, fragrances, which are infused with essential oils, and colors are eco-friendly and non-toxic. The wicks are cotton, with no lead content. You can use our candles resting assured in their safety for you and the environment.

I recently tried three of the Backwoods Scents. I really liked the Buck Fever. The good scent was not too strong but lasted long after I blew out the candle. The Duck Blind was a big hit with my husband. It reminds him of walking around outdoors. I though it was a nice clean scent. While I was not a big fan of Deer Hunter, my husband loved it. He really liked the Leather fragrance of the candle. Will definitely re-order.

I received my candles yesterday and I’m so happy with them. The Country Spice is my favorite—that’s the scent I lean towards. I love everything lemon and the Lemon Verbena is perfect for my kitchen—I lit it last night, the smell is wonderful, it burns evenly, and no black smoke.
